Chris spent 12 years in the Marine Corps and Navy SEAL
Teams. In 2001, while still on active duty, he founded Tactical Assault Gear®
out of a retail shop in Imperial Beach, California. In 2008 he co-authored a
best-selling book on Naval Special Warfare. TAG was acquired in 2010 and is
still running today.

Chris has always been drawn to work that is not easy. Work that
is physical, precise, and unforgiving, the kind most people find exhausting, or
punishing he has always found most rewarding.

Knifemaking is no different. He came to it not looking for a new business
but looking for something that met those same standards and he found it. In 2020
he got sober and rebuilt his life around the things that mattered. Today Chris
is 52, he trains Jiu-Jitsu, hikes, runs, and lifts, enjoys camping and fly
fishing. He loves cooking meals at home using knives he made in his own
shop.

He knows knifemaking is a craft he will never fully master.
That is exactly why he does it. It will forever remain as challangiing as it is today.

As Chris often says, “The knives are the point. Everything
else is just how I got here.”
