Tanzo Cutlery — One Craftsman. Quietly Obsessed

Chris Osman is the single craftsman behind Tanzo Cutlery. Chris started his career in the military.  In 2001 he founded a design and manufacturing company where scale was the focus and craft was all but eclipsed. After more than 20 years in the defense industry he retired. He stepped away from volume manufacturing to pursue something smaller, intentional, more purposeful. Chris returned to hands‑on work with one goal: to create knives by hand one at a time. Chris cooks daily with his own knives, as such every model Tanzo Cutlery offers is first used, evaluated, and refined over months of real world use in his own kitchen long before it ever becomes a product offering.  

When Chris isn’t in the shop, he enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, hiking, fly fishing, and training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
