THE TANZO DIFFERENCE
Every knife that leaves the Tanzo Cutlery workshop is made entirely by one person, Chris Osman. No production line. No outsourced grinding. No shortcuts. Just a former Marine and Navy SEAL who spent 20 years in the tactical design industry before turning his full attention to the craft of cutlery.
This is what handmade actually means.
THE STEEL
Tanzo knives are crafted from AEB-L stainless steel, a Swedish-origin, fine-carbide steel originally developed for razor blades. It holds an exceptionally sharp edge, resists corrosion, and responds well to precise heat treatment. It is not the flashiest steel on the market, but its performance in a kitchen is undeniable.
Every blank starts as raw bar stock. Chris profiles each blade by hand, working the steel through grinding stages that establish the geometry: the spine thickness, the primary bevel, the distal taper, before heat treatment and tempering locks everything in.
CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
Signed, numbered, and uncopyable. Each Tanzo knife ships with a signed Certificate of Authenticity paired to one half of a torn U.S. $2 bill. We keep the matching half on file-proof that your knife is genuine, one‑of‑a‑kind, and protected for life.

CUTTING BOARDS
A great cook is only as good as their tools and that extends far beyond the blade.
